What to Do When You Feel Lost in Life
When you feel lost in life, it is usually for one or more of the following reasons:
You don’t know what you want.
You have lost touch with your inner desire for whatever reason (aka you can’t feel what ignites you anymore). You haven’t engaged with this internal flame for too long that it has become difficult to see where it is trying to guide you.
If that is the case, start with getting in touch with your inner desire whenever you can.
From the smallest thing possible to every decision you make in every moment, ask yourself: what do I want in this scenario? Choose what you want. You deserve to live a life full of passion and what you love.
As you build up this sacred connection with your heart space, what you desire to attain in this lifetime will become more clear. Nobody can decide that for you — it is your responsibility to find out who you are meant to become.
Your desire is as important as anyone else’s. Don’t silence it, don’t waste your time living out someone else’s life, and do always choose what your heart desires (from a place of love). If you don’t do that, rest assured no one else is going to put your wants in the first place. YOU have to be the one to always do that for yourself.
If feeling uncertain, focus on the immediate next step: what can you do right now to gain more clarity? Investigate and experience your options. There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path — every step you take is another step closer to your final destination, or, if you choose to believe, your final destined location :).
You know what you want, but you don’t believe in yourself.
First of all, don’t let anybody tell you what you can or cannot do. They are simply not qualified to make such comments. This is a matter of fact.
Second of all, there is only one way to find out if you can indeed realize your dreams, and that is to actually do it. The only determinant in whether you can attain your dreams is you and you alone.
But most importantly, you should have confidence in yourself because you have the ability to learn, grow, and improve. Nobody starts out their journey knowing exactly how to realize their dreams.
Quite frankly put, it does not matter if you believe in yourself, as long as it is not stopping you from taking the necessary actions. However, a lack of self-belief/self-confidence and/or self-doubt can sabotage your actions and hence the result, but when you don’t give up and continuously put in the effort, you will see results. Then, you will start to believe in yourself, and you will start to make more effective improvements, so fxxk your inner critics and just. take. actions.
Nobody is born a master in their craft - mastery only comes with practice.
You know what you want, and you have decided to believe in yourself and take a leap of faith, but you don’t know where to start.
There is no one right way to do anything.
Any small step you feel drawn to, or are comfortable with, is the right first step for you. There will be no growth and no epiphanies if there is no action. On the other hand, any second you allow yourself to engage in action-taking is another second for skill point accumulation.
However, blindly taking the tried-and-true courses of action without conscious intention will not suffice either. You have to be clear and centered in your vision so you don’t get sidetracked by extraneous information (especially in today’s day and age of information explosion 💥). Constantly checking in with yourself and reminding yourself of your vision can help with that.
You have “too many” dreams, desires, and aspirations that you would like to experience.
This is actually a good thing. These dreams are in fact the list of treasures you are meant to hunt for in your life. All there is left to do is to draw out an approximate route to collect all these treasures along the way — very much like your own treasure map.
Are you going to successfully collect all these treasures? It depends on how resourceful and creative you are when designing your treasure-hunting path; how resilient you are when presented with challenges; and how devoted you are to making all of your dreams happen. In other words, it all depends on YOU.
You reap what you sow. There is simply no other way around it as luck can only get you so far. Do not cheat yourself — even if you try, you will not succeed. You will always know when you have cheated yourself, and likewise, you will always know when your success is hard-earned and well-deserved. However, also be gentle and patient with yourself in strengthening your weak points.
Truly become who you are meant to become inside and out, so nothing can stand in your way.
And remember, as long as you can figure out a way to fill up your skill points in all of your desired areas with the limited time you have in your life, you can, without doubt, become a scholar, an entrepreneur, a singer, a painter, and a mega superstar. Yes - you can be it all, and nobody can tell you otherwise. Because once the skill point is earned, it is yours forever. Similarly, once you acquire the skills for, and are acting consistently with, being a scholar, an entrepreneur, a singer, a painter, and a mega superstar, you are then them all. So take action, one step at a time, and build up that strong foundation for yourself.
Be a responsible dream owner — be bold and fearless. Cultivate the necessary virtues along the way: self-control, discipline, efficiency, and whatever suits your situation.
Always be patient with yourself, but never give up.
Closing Remarks
Sensibly, we have to experience multiple things before we can set our heart on that one thing because we would only know after we experience, and that is perfecto (p.s. remember to thank the universe for blessing you with such rich life experiences ,). Wherever your heart is calling you towards, just give it a try.
Don’t be scared, be honest (especially with yourself), be courageous, and be confident. Don’t doubt your decisions, show up, and give it your all every time. Trust yourself enough to rely on yourself, and trust that when you find that one thing, you will not miss it (if it is truly meant to be, it will be). There is no way you can miss it — your heart won’t let you. You will love it so much that it would be unbearably painful to just let it go.
But before you find that thing, trust that luck is on your side.
Most importantly, remember to have fun ,)!
