The Power of Your Mind - Manifestation
The Theoretical Framework for Manifestation (& The Law of Attraction)
The wave-particle duality in quantum physics has inspired a new approach in understanding our physical reality. Our physical reality is made up of matters, all matters are made up of subatomic particles, and every such particle, or quantum entity, exhibits the characteristics of both a particle (physical matter) and a wave (“a wave transfers energy without transferring matters” or you could simply see it as energy.)
Whether a quantum entity is a particle or a wave depends on many factors, including the distance and interaction of these entities to one another, the act of measuring/observing, and the observer themselves (the observer effect). For example, if the distance of two particles is far away from each other, they exhibit the characteristics of a wave, but as soon as one tries to measure the distance between the two, they collapse and become a particle. Subatomic particles exist as a “momentary phenomenon,” as they are always appearing in the 3D and disappearing into the quantum field. The observer effect states that, only until an agent (the observer) focuses their attention on a given location of a given electron, does that electron appear and manifest into the 3D reality (aka collapse of the wave function).
In fact, atoms are 99.99999% empty spaces filled with electromagnetic fields that are generated by electrons within the atoms. That is to say, not only are physical matters mostly energy each with a unique “set pattern,” (“field of energy” or “frequency patterns of information” as Joe Dispenza defined in his book), but humans are also, logically and intuitively speaking, made up of mostly energy, or frequency patterns of information.
If the fundamental building blocks of all tangible matters in our physical reality is mostly energy, and if the observer’s mindful attention directly affects the behavior and state of being of subatomic particles, then wouldn’t you agree that it is at least possible for us to directly affect our physical reality through our minds and our attention? Perhaps we are already constantly manifesting our reality with our thoughts and belief systems, whether we are aware of it or not……
If you are interested in a more detailed explanation, I recommend reading Dr. Joe Dispenza’s book Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself, as a lot of the explanation here is merely a paraphrase of what he discussed in the first few chapters of his book. In his book, he expands on the underlying mechanism behind the law of attraction (or manifestation), with the help of prominent theories and findings from the fields of quantum physics, neurobiology, psychology, and philosophy.
Meanwhile, we have already seen manifestation in action — the placebo effect, where with a simple mental action of believing, one can elicit a faster and higher physical recovery rate from taking sugar pills. Although we have discovered this effect for decades, it is only recently that we started realizing that there is more to it, and thus, we are finally attempting to harness more benefits from it. Yet, the placebo effect comes from only a very simple (and probably subconscious) mental action of believing, just imagine how much more positive change we can obtain if we mindfully practice where to direct our beliefs and attention.
Now hopefully I have demonstrated how strong of an effect our minds can have on our physical reality, and have convinced you that we all embody the ability to shift our reality, whether it’d be through how physical matters interact, or through our physical bodies…
What exactly is manifestation?
The essence of manifestation, visualization, and meditations that centered around these purposes is to imagine and visualize what you want to manifest very vividly, to a point where you elicit physical reactions (emotions and sensations) in your present physical body so that you feel like you are already living that dream. A study has shown that when you visualize and imagine future events, your brain activities look as if you were experiencing those events in the present moment. Then, with the same neural activities, you elicit the same physical and emotional reactions as those of the “successful” you, whatever that means to you.
Biologically speaking, any thoughts, feelings, and actions you have are the end products of your neural activities. The firing of neurons in your brain elicits physical reactions, whether it be through your glands excreting hormones or neurons releasing neurotransmitters, and hence, elicits the feelings you feel. In other words, the only differences between the current you and the “successful” you are basically how you feel and who you are internally. Yes, the external reality, opportunity, information, knowledge, etc. are different too, but the whole point of manifestation is realizing the power of creating any external reality you desire by understanding how to master your internal state.By emotionally becoming the successful you, you start to exude the frequency patterns of the successful you, and ultimately, start to attract people, events, and opportunities with the same frequency into your life (just like how frequency forks react and respond to sounds/frequency forks that embody their same frequencies).
Additionally, by frequently doing manifestation practices (meditation, scripting, and other methods that you can easily find from a quick Google or YouTube search), you will slowly re-wire your neural pathways to fire in ways that represent the successful you. When you feel like the successful you, you are allowing yourself to think and act like the successful you, and soon, you will find yourself feeling exuberant, motivated, and courageous enough to make decisions and take actions that represent the successful you, and thus, moving towards actualizing your manifestations. Yes, you still need to take action and put in the consistent effort to obtain your manifestations, but you will do so in a more effortless manner, with minimal self-doubts, and the best part? You will most likely receive many synchronicities, or beautiful “coincidences,” and you might even end up believing in a “higher intelligence”. Regardless, manifestation will make your self-actualization journey more fun, magical, and at ease.
So, what is it that you want to manifest? That is to say, you are given the ability and power to create anything, do you know what exactly you want in life? You will realize that this is not an easy question. You will need to take some time to really think about it — what is your dream life? What accomplishments in life do you want to achieve? What impact do you want to have on this world? And on the people around you? — This includes all dimensions of life: family, romantic interest, career, reputation, acquisitions, behavior, and even appearances.
Usually, most people are still inclined to “predict the future with the past.” They will try to picture their dream lives with their current acquisitions, abilities, knowledge, obligations in life, self-limiting beliefs, perceived time constraints, and many other perceived obstacles; then ultimately, they end up hindering their beliefs in self and limiting their ability to create their dream lives. So, If you can strip away all the worries and todo’s in your life, what would be the dream life you want to create?
How exactly do you manifest?
Find a time when you are able to really relax your mind and really contemplate. Then, once you have decided what your dream life looks like, you can start manifesting it immediately by developing a crystal-clear vision for yourself. What does your dream self look like? Take a moment to daydream a little: imagine and visualize every little detail of living as your dream self in your dream life. Allow yourself to really feel the emotions and feelings, and to really imagine the small details that bring you exuberance and fulfillment. This is because your brain does not know the difference between imagination and reality. Also, when you are able to physically feel your desired reality, you are developing a stronger connection with this reality. Personally, I do this when I walk my dog Mochi or when I am in the shower. However, if you are not a natural “daydreamer,” guided meditation is perhaps a more powerful way for you to manifest (I recommend this guided meditation. Also, watch the intro as she explains manifestation so well!). I again recommend reading Joe Dispenza’s book Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself, where he first explains the mechanisms behind manifestation, and then later describes in detail the meditation method he developed for becoming your dream self.
Then, be aware and alert for opportunities that resonate with this new you, and trust that even if you might not know how to get there yet, you will be shown the way.
Last but not least, I find the most important aspect of manifestation is to ask yourself, after you have identified and visualized your dream life, what would your daily routine be like when you are living your dream life? Are there any steps you can take right now to move toward that dream life? Are there any routines or habits that you can incorporate into your life right now to gradually become your dream self?
If so, do it, and do it with trust — trust that the steps you are taking right now will not be in vain; trust that the universe is fair and just; and trust that even if you are digressing a little from “the right path”, it is always for the additional adventures the universe is trying to bless you with and trust that the universe will always use mysterious forces to guide you back on track.
Start embodying your dream vision immediately. You will find yourself feeling so much more different day by day. Then, you will be surprised to see how much you have grown, and how many beautiful “coincidences” are happening in your life. Soon enough, you will find yourself “co-creating” your dream life piece by piece with the universe.
When you are able to consistently act in accordance with your dream self, your manifestations are going to become your reality.
The future is literally holding unlimited possibilities, so don’t let your fear and self-limiting beliefs hold you back.
Start harnessing the power of your mind and your imagination with mindful intentions, and start creating your dream life with this superpower that all humans possess.
